Experience
For more than twenty years, I have helped organizations apply artificial intelligence to complex, mission-critical challenges. My experience spans advanced AI research, enterprise technology leadership, and executive responsibility for AI strategy, governance, and transformation. Throughout that journey, the focus has remained consistent: translating emerging AI capabilities into trusted operational systems that deliver measurable results.
Leading Enterprise AI
Establishing enterprise AI strategy, governance, and organizational transformation.
As Leidos' first Chief AI Officer, I established the enterprise AI operating model and led AI strategy across a $17B Fortune 300 company serving defense, intelligence, healthcare, energy, transportation, and civilian agencies. Responsibilities included enterprise AI strategy, Trusted AI governance, AI investment, executive advising, workforce enablement, and deployment of generative and agentic AI at scale.
Highlights
- Created the enterprise AI operating model spanning five business sectors and corporate functions.
- Established the company's Trusted AI governance framework and chaired the Enterprise AI Governance Board.
- Guided enterprise adoption of generative and agentic AI, enabling secure deployment across highly regulated environments.
- Developed and led execution of AI strategy, reporting progress to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Led delivery of approximately $50 million in annual AI-enabled value across customer programs and internal operations.
Leading Technology Integration
Integrating and delivering AI, cyber, software, and digital modernization to solve complex mission challenges.
Before becoming Chief AI Officer, I spent five years building the organizational and technical capabilities that enabled enterprise AI transformation. I founded the Leidos AI Accelerator, later established the Technology Integration organization, and led multidisciplinary teams responsible for integrating AI, cyber, software engineering, and digital modernization into enterprise solutions and customer programs.
Highlights
- Founded the Leidos AI Accelerator and built a team of more than 50 AI scientists, engineers, and solution architects.
- Created the Technology Integration organization, growing it to more than 250 scientists, engineers, and technologists.
- Directed approximately $30 million annually in internal technology investment.
- Supported more than $40 billion in competitive pursuits by integrating advanced technologies into enterprise solutions.
- Accelerated the transition of generative AI from experimentation to operational deployment across the company.
Leading AI Research
Advancing artificial intelligence through applied research and operational innovation.
Long before generative AI became mainstream, I led research and development programs exploring machine learning, knowledge discovery, autonomous systems, predictive analytics, and decision support for some of the U.S. government's most demanding technical organizations. These efforts established the technical foundation that later informed my work leading enterprise AI.
Representative areas of work
- Machine learning and knowledge extraction
- Knowledge graphs and semantic technologies
- Autonomous systems and human-machine teaming
- Predictive analytics and decision support
- AI applications for national security and scientific discovery
Programs supported organizations including DARPA, IARPA, DIA, DTRA, SOCOM, ONR, and the U.S. Army.
